About Don Camillo
Don Camillo follows priest Camillo with Fernandel against communist mayor Peppone in Brescello. The Little World of Don Camillo from 1952 sets the bell, river and Christ voice rules. The Return of Don Camillo from 1953 moves him back from exile to the same feud.
Don Camillo’s Last Round and the Great Fight keep the elections and floods coming through the late 1950s. Comrade Don Camillo from 1965 takes the pair to Russia as the finale. The 1970s reboot attempt stayed unfinished after Fernandel’s death, which leaves the five as the closed set.
Good to know
Watch in release order with no skipping at all. The feud jokes only land if you know each prior truce well, and Comrade assumes the full rivalry seen across years. Start with the 1952 original to learn Brescello rules. The unfinished 1970s footage fits nowhere on a first run and can be skipped fully. Treat the five as complete.
