About Evil Dead
Six Evil Dead films exist, from Sam Raimi's 1981 original through Evil Dead Burn, released July 10, 2026. Release order is the recommended path. The series now works as an anthology: the newer films share the Necronomicon and the Deadites, not characters or plot.
A seventh film, Evil Dead Wrath from director Francis Galluppi, entered production in February 2026 with no release date announced. The Ash vs Evil Dead TV series (2015-2018) is a separate branch and is not required for the films.
Good to know
The original trilogy has loose continuity by design. Evil Dead II (1987) replays the first film's setup with a new telling before continuing the story, and Army of Darkness follows that ending loosely. Do not expect a tight timeline. Burn moved up from July 24 to July 10, 2026 before release.
