About Sharknado
Sharknado premiered July 2013 on Syfy as a low budget joke that became a yearly event. Parts 2 through 5 moved the tornado sharks from New York to Florida to space, with Fin Shepard and April chasing them each July from 2014 to 2017. The Last Sharknado in August 2018 uses time travel and ends by resetting history.
Syfy called part 6 the final film in 2018. A prequel about teenage Fin and April, Sharknado Origins, was announced November 2025 for summer 2026 but had no release evidence as of September 2026. Watch 1 through 6 in order. The Lavalantula spinoffs are optional and slot after part 3.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order until Origins releases. Parts 1 through 5 run in order, and part 6 jumps through time but still ends the saga, so release order is story order. Origins would go first once it exists, since it shows the first Sharknado. Until then it sits last with a null year as a placeholder.
