About Flint
Flint reached theaters as two James Coburn spy parodies, Our Man Flint in 1966 and In Like Flint in 1967, with Lee J. Cobb as his long suffering boss. Derek Flint works for Z.O.W.I.E. with a winning streak of gadgets, women and absurd competence that defined the Bond spoof era.
Watch the pair in release order since the crew and the jokes carry over. A third film never happened despite box office success, and the 1976 TV movie with Ray Danton recast the role for a backdoor pilot that never became a series.
Good to know
Release order is story order in the loose sense that matters, with standalone missions and no prequel to place. The unproduced Harlan Ellison Flintlock script and a late seventies Coburn attempt both stalled, which is why the run stops at two. The 1976 TV movie sits after the films as a separate take with no Coburn involvement.
