Gareth Edwards shot Monsters in 2010 for under half a million dollars with effects done on a laptop. Godzilla followed in 2014 as his studio reboot, then Rogue One in 2016 as the first Star Wars standalone about the Death Star plans theft.
The Creator arrived in 2023 as his original AI war film shot on location in Asia, and Jurassic World Rebirth opened July 2, 2025 with Scarlett Johansson on a new island mission. Each film stands alone, so release order shows his move from indie tricks to large scale staging.
Good to know
The stories share no characters, so watch oldest to newest. Rogue One also fits Star Wars marathons and Godzilla fits MonsterVerse runs, but here they show Edwards alone. Rebirth sits last as the 2025 release. He exited the planned Rebirth sequel in 2026, so nothing dated follows it right now at all.
