About Godfrey Grayson
Godfrey Grayson (1913 to 1998) directed quota quickies and second features for Hammer, Butcher and the Danzigers between 1949 and 1962. He started with detectives and spies such as Dick Barton Strikes Back, Doctor Morelle and The Adventures of PC 49, then moved into horror with Room to Let, a Jack the Ripper tale from 1950.
The Fake from 1953 shows his crime side, while So Evil, So Young from 1961 and The Durant Affair from 1962 close the run with reform school drama and courtroom tension. The films share no continuity, so release order tracks how his low budget craft stayed tight across thirteen years.
Good to know
Grayson made about 23 features, so this is a starter pick of seven rather than the full run. Release order equals story order since every film stands alone. Theatre of Death from 1966 is often guessed as his but it was directed by Samuel Gallu, which is why Room to Let is used here as the poster search. No new Grayson film can appear since he died in 1998.
