About The Hitman's Bodyguard
The Hitman's Bodyguard pairs Michael Bryce, a disgraced protection agent played by Ryan Reynolds, with Darius Kincaid, a hitman played by Samuel L. Jackson who needs to reach The Hague alive. Salma Hayek plays Sonia, Kincaid's wife, and the first film runs on the clash between Bryce planning every step and Kincaid shooting through every step.
Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard from 2021 pulls Bryce out of a sabbatical and sends the trio after Aristotle Papadopoulos, with Frank Grillo, Antonio Banderas and Morgan Freeman joining. Director Patrick Hughes said in 2021 that a third story is mapped out, but Lionsgate has not dated it, so the two released films are the complete set for now.
Good to know
Watch in release order, since the sequel builds directly on Bryce losing his triple A rating and on Sonia breaking out of prison. The planned third film has no title or date, so it stays out of the list until Lionsgate sets it. Once a third entry is dated, it will slot after the 2021 film in both orders.
