About Ira Sachs
Ira Sachs made Keep the Lights On in 2012 about addiction and love. Love Is Strange followed in 2014 with Molina and Lithgow wed then split by rooms. Little Men arrived in 2016 with boys befriending across a shop feud.
Frankie came in 2019 gathering family in Portugal, and Passages in 2023 triangled Rogowski, Whishaw and Exarchopoulos in Paris. The films share couples and flats but no plots link at all. Release order shows his New York eye softening to Paris intact. The flat keys and shop bells carry every couple with ache.
Good to know
Watch oldest to newest since each couple resets its flat. Lights first sets the addiction base far from later calm. Strange and Men pair as his housing bookends to give full focus. Passages closes as the Paris turn. No next feature has a date yet, so the 2023 triangle film stays last until one lands.
