About Jean Vigo

A propos de Nice opened the run in 1930 as a city symphony with Boris Kaufman. Taris followed in 1931 as a swimming short. Zero for Conduct arrived in 1933 with boarding school revolt banned for years.

L'Atalante closed the run in 1934 with barge couple Jean and Juliette. Vigo died that year at 29 with the film cut by distributors. Watch the four in release order. Each mixes documentary streets with anarchic love in under an hour except the feature. The barge water laps through every romance with anarchic joy and mist.
