About John Wick
John Wick began in 2014 as a lean revenge thriller about a retired hitman dragged back into the criminal underworld, and grew into a four-film saga about the High Table, the global council that rules that world. Keanu Reeves plays Wick across all four chapters, released from 2014 to 2023.
The spinoff Ballerina (2025) stars Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro and slots between Chapters 3 and 4. Beyond that, a Caine spinoff starring and directed by Donnie Yen has wrapped filming but has no release date, and the sequel series Under the High Table plus a fifth Wick film remain in development.
Good to know
Ballerina underperformed at the box office relative to Chapter 4, but it is canon and worth watching for Wick completists. Reeves cameos in it.
Uncertainty as of September 2026: the Caine film has no announced release date despite wrapping in July 2026, so a 2027 slot is plausible but unconfirmed. Under the High Table has no network or premiere date attached. John Wick: Chapter 5 is in early development with Reeves and director Chad Stahelski involved, but no date exists. Treat all three as tentative.
