About Maria Schrader
Maria Schrader directed Stefan Zweig Farewell to Europe in 2016 about exile in Brazil. I Am Your Man followed in 2021 with Eggold as a robot lover tested in Berlin. She Said arrived in 2022 with Mulligan and Kazan breaking Weinstein.
Unorthodox came in 2020 as her four part Netflix run from Brooklyn to Berlin. The works share exiles and tests but no plots link at all. Each runs careful and humane on purpose. Release order shows her actor eye moving from period to present intact. Her actor past shows in the close faces and soft rooms used throughout.
Good to know
Watch oldest to newest since each exile resets its city. Zweig first sets the period base for the run ahead. Your Man and She Said pair as her Berlin New York peak to give full focus. Unorthodox fits between as the TV bridge. No next feature has a date yet, so the 2022 press film stays last until one lands.
