About M3GAN
M3GAN follows roboticist Gemma left caring for niece Cady with a learning doll that turns lethal. The 2023 film sets the Funki labs pairing and the neighbor dog and boss kills, while M3GAN 2.0 from 2025 rebuilds the doll against a new military robot after the first was thought destroyed.
Watch the two in release order since the sequel assumes the lab destruction and the aunt niece custody state. The spin-off SOULM8TE remains in the same universe with no firm date set as the next step. No third main film has been dated, which keeps the two film run as the current set.
Good to know
Release order matches story order with no prequels to place. Watch the 2023 film first because 2.0 reuses its dance and kill language on purpose. The sequel plays larger with action tech, so expect a tone shift after the home horror start. Treat SOULM8TE as upcoming rather than counted, and refresh the list once Universal sets its date and canon spot.
