One Missed Call Watch Order

The One Missed Call films in order, from Miike's 2003 original through the 2006 finale and the 2008 American remake. Release order keeps the Mimiko curse rules clear, since each sequel assumes the phone pattern known.

About One Missed Call

One Missed Call follows people who get voicemails from their future selves with the date and sound of their deaths. Takashi Miike directed the 2003 original from Yasushi Akimoto's novel, with Ko Shibasaki as Yumi. One Missed Call 2 arrived in 2005 with a Taiwan daycare thread, and One Missed Call Final closed the Japanese run in 2006 with traded phones in Korea.

Warner Bros remade the first film in 2008 with Shannyn Sossamon and Edward Burns, keeping the voicemail hook but resetting the cast. The three Japanese entries share the Mimiko thread, while the remake stands alone as an alternate start.

Good to know

Watch the Japanese trilogy in release order, since Mimiko archive footage in Final only lands if the first film is fresh. The 2008 remake can be watched after the trilogy or on its own, as it repeats the setup with new names. A 2005 TV series exists in Japan but stays outside these lists as a side branch with its own cast.
