About Paul Greengrass

Greengrass broke through with Bloody Sunday (2002) about the 1972 Derry shootings, a Golden Bear winner at Berlin. He then directed The Bourne Supremacy (2004), United 93 (2006) about September 11 and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). Handheld camera links all three. United 93 earned him a BAFTA and an Oscar nomination.

Green Zone (2010) is a fictional Iraq War thriller starring Matt Damon. Captain Phillips (2013), starring Tom Hanks, retells the 2009 Maersk Alabama hijacking. Jason Bourne (2016) closed his trilogy and 22 July (2018) examines the 2011 Norway attacks. News of the World (2020) stars Hanks escorting a girl across Texas. The Lost Bus (2025) dramatizes the 2018 Camp Fire rescue with McConaughey, and The Uprising (2026) stages the 1381 Peasants Revolt with Garfield.

Good to know

These are standalone features, not a shared universe, so release order is the full order and no separate chronological list is worth maintaining. The Bourne entries connect to each other, but they still play best in release order. The Lost Bus retells the 2018 Camp Fire rescue and The Uprising stages the 1381 Peasants Revolt, both kept in release order here.
