About Predator
Predator films jump across centuries, which is why both a release list and a story list help. The run opened with Predator in 1987 and Predator 2 in 1990, crossed over with Alien for two AVP films, then returned with Predators in 2010 and The Predator in 2018.
Dan Trachtenberg rebooted interest with Prey in 2022, set in 1719, followed by the animated anthology Killer of Killers in June 2025 and the theatrical Badlands in November 2025. Badlands flips the formula by following a young outcast Predator named Dek on a distant planet with Elle Fanning as his android ally.
Good to know
Release order keeps the reveals as intended and works for a first watch, while story order starts in 1719 with Prey and ends in the far future with Badlands. The AVP films are optional since the main Predator line barely acknowledges them. Killer of Killers spans multiple eras as an anthology, so it sits best after Prey in either path as a showcase of hunts through history.
