About Rishab Shetty
Rishab Shetty directs coastal Karnataka folklore with mainstream muscle. Ricky from 2016 opened quietly, Kirik Party the same year made campus nostalgia a phenomenon, and Sarkari Shaale from 2018 played village school politics. Kantara from September 2022 fused Bhoota worship with a land rights thriller.
Kantara Chapter 1 from October 2025 rewinds to the legend's origin as a prequel. Kantara Chapter 2 is attached in pre-production with no date. His Hanuman acting role belongs to another director's film and stays out. Watch in release order since the folklore grammar builds.
Good to know
Release order is the suggested path. Chapter 1 is a prequel but plays best after Kantara, since its legend assumes the original's Bhoota rules. The Kantara films have their own guide for that saga. Rudraprayag carries no confirmed theatrical release and stays out. Jai Hanuman is an acting credit under Prasanth Varma, not a directing one.
