About The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) follows Carmen, Tibby, Bridget and Lena sharing jeans that fit all four over one summer, opening June 1, 2005 for Warner Bros. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008) jumps to college age with Greece, art school and loss, opening August 6, 2008.
Both films share the four leads and the jeans rules without recaps. A third based on Sisterhood Everlasting was pitched in 2014 with Alloy, pushed by the cast in 2018 and discussed through 2024, but director Ken Kwapis said June 2025 they never cracked it. Watch in release order, since the second assumes you know Bailey, Eric and the Greece summer.
Good to know
Release order is story order, with the sequel set three years after the first summer. Do not start with part two, since it reuses the jeans magic and the Bridget mother thread without intro. Each runs around two hours as friendship drama, not high school comedy only. Treat the duology as complete dormant, with no distributor or shoot date for a third.
