About Party of Five
Party of Five follows the Salingers, five siblings raising each other after their parents die, with Bailey, Julia, Claudia, Charlie and baby Owen. The original ran six seasons from 1994 to 2000 with 142 episodes, tracking school, bar work and custody in order.
A reboot arrived in 2020 with the Acosta family in a similar setup, running one season. It keeps the premise but tells a separate story. Watch the original straight through, then the reboot, since themes echo but plots never cross. Episodes stand alone per job, but sibling bonds and custody arcs grow with each season in order.
Good to know
Release order keeps the two families apart, because the reboot restarts the premise with new characters. The original finale from 2000 closes the Salingers cleanly. The reboot finale closes the Acostas cleanly. Either run can be watched alone, but in order the care and custody beats read best within each family.
