About Smile
Smile tracks a curse that jumps through trauma after witnesses see a grinning death. The 2022 film follows therapist Rose Cotter across a week of smiles after a patient death, while Smile 2 from 2024 follows pop star Skye Riley on tour as the entity scales to arenas.
Watch the two in release order since the sequel assumes the curse rules and expands the chain logic. The short Laura Hasn't Slept from 2020 previews the same idea as an optional warm up. No third film has been dated, which leaves the two theatrical entries as the current set with the curse unresolved.
Good to know
Release order matches story order with the curse chain as the link. Watch the 2022 film first because Smile 2 reuses its week countdown and witness transfer beats. The sequel plays louder with stage lights, so expect a scope jump after the clinic dread start. Treat the short as optional rather than required, and the run as open until a third film is dated.
