About Step Up
Step Up began in 2006 with Tyler Gage, played by Channing Tatum, doing community service at a Baltimore arts school. The Streets (2008) follows Andie to the 410 crew. 3D (2010) introduces Moose at NYU. Revolution (2012) moves to Miami flash mobs, and All In (2014) gathers past dancers for a Las Vegas contest.
Year of the Dance (2019) retold the formula in China as a separate continuity. The YouTube series Step Up: High Water ran three seasons from 2018 with its own cast. No new film has been announced, leaving All In as the close of the main run.
Good to know
Watch one through five plus All In in release order, since Moose grows from sidekick to lead across the middle three. Each film resets the romance around new leads, so dance crews matter more than plot memory. Year of the Dance and High Water share only the name and the battle format, safe to watch after the main six as alternates.
