About Super Mario Bros
Super Mario Bros follows Mario and Luigi from Brooklyn to Dinohattan in 1993 with Hoskins. It sets the live pipes and Koopa rules. The film stands alone.
The Super Mario Bros Movie from 2023 reboots in animation with Pratt on a Mushroom quest. A Galaxy sequel has been announced but has no firm date yet in this guide. Watch the 1993 film first, then the 2023 reboot, since pipe rules echo but continuities reset. Pipes stand alone per version, but rescue and quest beats grow from live action to animation.
Good to know
Release order keeps the two Marios apart, because the reboot restarts with a new cast. The 1993 film works alone for live pipes, but the 2023 quest lands best after the rescue base. No date has been set here for Galaxy, so the 2023 film is the current end. Start at the 1993 entry. The 1993 film works alone for pipes, but the 2023 quest lands best after the rescue base.
