About Tall Girl
Tall Girl follows Jodi Kreyman, played by Ava Michelle, as the tallest girl in school navigating confidence and crushes. The 2019 original by Nzingha Stewart centers the Stig love triangle with Sabrina Carpenter as sister Harper. Tall Girl 2 from February 2022 by Emily Ting moves Jodi into the school musical lead while fame strains her relationship.
Sam Wolfson wrote both films for Wonderland Sound and Vision on Netflix. The original drew over 41 million viewers. The sequel assumes the first film's couple status, so it plays as a direct second year rather than a standalone story.
Good to know
Watch the 2019 film before the 2022 sequel, since the musical plot leans on the first love triangle's resolution. Both films run around 100 minutes with the same school cast throughout. Jodi's confidence arc only pays off in sequence. No third film has been announced, so the musical finale is the current endpoint.
