The Howling tracks TV anchor Karen White facing the Colony pack in the 1981 original, then widens with Stirling sister in Your Sister Is a Werewolf, Australian marsupials in part 3, the Drago art colony in part 4, Budapest castle in part 5, Freaks carnival in part 6, New Moon Rising desert in part 7, and Reborn teens in 2011.
Watch the 1981 film first for Dante transformation rules before sequels reuse them loosely. Later entries reset towns with light ties, so sampling after the original is safe. No ninth Howling has been dated, which leaves the eight Cannon era entries as the closed set.

Release order keeps moon reveals intact with Colony first and Reborn last. The 1981 film plays practical effects peak, so start there before the video sequels shift tone. Marsupials in part 3 splits opinion with pouches, which makes saving it for mid run work best. Treat Reborn as the current end with the pack burned and no reboot pending.
