About Astrid
Created by Alexandre de Seguins and Laurent Burtin for France 2, the show pairs Sara Mortensen as Astrid Nielsen, a brilliant archivist on the autism spectrum, with Lola Dewaere as impulsive commander Raphaelle Coste. A 90-minute pilot aired in April 2019 and drew over four million viewers, earning a full order. Season one followed in March 2020 with eight 52-minute cases mixing forensics, puzzles and the growth of the central friendship.
Seasons two to six aired in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025, each with eight Friday-night episodes from JLA Productions filmed around Paris. The run passed 49 episodes and tops five million viewers. Cases stay standalone but Astrid private life and Raphaelle family threads build across years, so watch in broadcast order. The show remains in production.
Good to know
Release order equals story order, since cases are standalone but character arcs run straight through the seasons. Start with the 2019 pilot Puzzle, then seasons one to six in sequence. The English-language remake Patience on Channel 4 retells the premise with new leads and sits outside this list. A seventh run has been discussed but France TV had not dated it by October 2026, so this guide stops at season six.
