About Breaking Bad
Breaking Bad follows chemistry teacher Walter White's turn to manufacturing methamphetamine. Better Call Saul is a prequel about his eventual lawyer, Jimmy McGill, but it is not purely a prequel: its final season jumps past the end of Breaking Bad to show what happens to Jimmy afterward. El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie is a direct epilogue to Breaking Bad, following Jesse Pinkman.

Because Better Call Saul spans both before and after Breaking Bad, a fully interleaved episode-by-episode chronological watch is technically possible but not recommended by most guides. It means repeatedly cutting away from Better Call Saul mid-episode, and several Breaking Bad episodes are themselves flashbacks, which makes strict chronology awkward rather than illuminating.
