About Chief Detective 1958
Chief Detective 1958 rewinds the 1971 Chief Inspector to young Park Yeong-han's Jongnam arrival. Ten episodes aired April 19 to May 18, 2024 on MBC Friday Saturday nights. The snake gang cases, the station politics and the unit assembly carry the run across ten Fridays.
The series is a single closed prequel with no second season. Its finale hands the badge forward to the 1971 timeline. Watch episodes 1 through 10 in order since the 1958 squad bonds and the corruption ladder stack across the spring.
Good to know
Watch episodes 1 through 10 in order. The squad assembly and the era corruption stack across the run, so the finale only lands whole. No second season exists or is planned. The 1971 original sits behind the prequel as background, never required. The ten stand as a complete origin with the corruption ladder climbed whole.
