About Cracker
Cracker is Jimmy McGovern Granada crime drama with Robbie Coltrane as Dr Edward Fitz Fitzgerald, drunk gambler and brilliant profiler beside Geraldine Somerville and Christopher Eccleston. Series one ran seven episodes from September 27 1993 as Mad Woman, To Say I Love You, and Lemming, series two ran nine in 1994, series three ran seven in 1995 as Brotherly Love.
Specials followed: Hong Kong Brotherly Love continuation in October 1996 and A New Terror in October 2006 after thirteen years. Coltrane won three BAFTAs across 1994 to 1996. Watch series one to three then the two specials in air order for the Fitz family arc.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The run from 1993 to 2006 follows Fitz forward through Manchester cases and family fallout, so release order and story order are the same list. US remake Fitz with Robert Pastorelli from 1997 sits outside and can be skipped without missing the UK arc.
