About Ellen

Ellen opened March 1994 as These Friends of Mine with 13 episodes about Ellen Morgan and friends around a bookstore with Joe and Anita. Season 2 ran 24 episodes, season 3 ran 25, and season 4 ran 25 with the famous Puppy Episode coming out run fully.

Season 5 ran 22 episodes to July 1998 after the show leaned into the arc with new stories fully told here on ABC. The Ellen Show from 2001 stands as a separate follow up, not a continuation of this run. No revival of this run has been ordered since.

Good to know

Watch seasons 1 through 5 in air order from start to finish. The season 4 coming out stretch only works with three bookstore years behind it fully. The last season shifts tone around the arc fallout, so expect a different shape at the close. The 2001 show works as an extra after, not part of this order.
