About Fringe

Fringe pairs FBI agent Olivia Dunham with institutionalized scientist Walter Bishop and his son Peter to investigate fringe science cases for a Boston task force. J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci created the Fox series, which ran 100 episodes over five seasons from September 9, 2008 to January 18, 2013.

Watch in air order. Standalone cases give way to the war with the parallel universe, then the altered timeline of season 4 and the Observer occupation of season 5, and every turn assumes you saw the last one. The two-part finale, Liberty and An Enemy of Fate, aired together on January 18, 2013 as episodes 99 and 100.

Good to know

Season 1 produced 21 episodes but Unearthed aired as a season 2 episode, so counts run 20, 23, 22, 22 and 13. Fox renewed the show for a shortened 13-episode final season in April 2012. The parallel-universe mythology plays out in broadcast order, so no alternate viewing sequence is needed.
