About Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl ran six seasons and 121 episodes on The CW from September 2007 to December 2012, following Serena, Blair and the Upper East Side crowd narrated by Kristen Bell. The HBO Max series from 2021 is a sequel, not a remake, set nine years later at the same school with a new cast and Bell returning as the voice.
The sequel ran two seasons and 22 episodes, from July 2021 to January 2023, and was cancelled after that. Watch the original complete first. The sequel assumes you know the rules of this world and who Gossip Girl was.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order for Gossip Girl. The sequel is set about nine years after the original ends, so release order is story order by design. The original ends in December 2012 and the sequel starts in July 2021. No third series has been announced as of September 2026, so both orders end at the same place.
