Helix traps CDC scientists in an Arctic lab with a rage virus that may be humanity's next step. Ronald Moore's Syfy thriller ran 13 episodes from January 2014, built as a locked-door outbreak mystery.
The second season moved 13 episodes to a cult island in 2015, rebooting the premise with the same leads. Syfy cancelled it there. Watch season one first for the Arctic rules, then season two as a thematic sequel. The island arc assumes nothing but rewards familiarity. The Arctic rules make season one the tighter watch.

Air order works across two near-anthology seasons. Season two replays the outbreak structure in a new setting with continuing characters, so it plays as a remix rather than a continuation. The 26 episodes close their arcs despite the cancellation. Start with the Arctic run for the show at its tightest. The virus mythology deepens without ever fully explaining itself.
