About The Institute
The Institute adapts Stephen King novel about Luke Ellis, a teen genius abducted to a facility holding telekinetic kids. Joe Freeman plays Luke with Ben Barnes as Tim Jamieson and Mary Louise Parker as Ms Sigsby. Jack Bender directs with Benjamin Cavell writing, and season one ran eight episodes July 13 to August 24, 2025 as MGM Plus best premiere.
Season two was renewed August 2025 for eight more episodes with Alfie Allen joining as billionaire Nolan Reeves. Production began early 2026 in Halifax with no premiere date set. Watch season one first for escape setup, since season two follows Luke and friends hunted while trying to end the program for good.
