About The Nanny
The Nanny was created by Drescher and Peter Marc Jacobson for CBS, starring Fran with Charles Shaughnessy as Maxwell Sheffield and Daniel Davis as Niles. Season one ran 22 episodes in 1993 to 1994, growing to 26 across middle years before closing with 21 in season six.
The show centers Fran romancing widowed producer Maxwell while raising Maggie, Brighton and Grace against C C Babcock schemes. Each season layers Niles sparring and Sylvia meddling toward the wedding finale. Watch seasons one through six in broadcast order, since Fran Maxwell slow burn compounds yearly.
Good to know
Broadcast order matches romance order across 146 episodes with no spinoffs. Start with season one opener for Pilot door to door setup that powers later Sheffield trust. Later wedding payoffs land best after full C C rivalry context. As an ended six season run, all six entries form the complete guide.
