About New Tricks
New Tricks follows retired cops reexamining cold cases under Sandra Pullman, with Jack, Brian and Gerry trading banter across 12 series from 2003 to 2015. Cases close weekly while the team turns over, as originals leave and new retirees join the Unsolved Crime unit.
Watch series one through 12 in air order. Murders stand alone, but exits and arrivals only make sense in sequence, from Pullman's exit to the later team rebuild. The final two series run with an almost new cast, so they play as a coda to the long middle run rather than a fresh start.

Air order carries the cast changes, which are the real continuity here. The show ran 107 episodes with steady ratings, ending in 2015 after the rebuild. Tone stays light procedural throughout, so the early cold cases set expectations well. A US version was discussed but never aired, leaving the BBC run as the complete set.
