About Platonic
Platonic reunites former college best friends Sylvia and Will, played by Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen, after a five-year falling out, then watches their rekindled friendship destabilize two marriages. Created by Nick Stoller and Francesca Delbanco, the first season ran ten episodes in summer 2023.
The second season ran ten episodes from August 6 to October 1, 2025, with Will engaged to Jenna and Sylvia moonlighting as a party planner. A third season was renewed in December 2025 with no date yet. The friendship arc runs straight through, so watch season one first. The season two wedding plot assumes the falling out.
Good to know
Air order is story order. Season two opens with Will's engagement and Sylvia's new career, both direct consequences of season one, and the show never resets between runs. The central joke stays the same throughout: everyone around them is sure they should be a couple, and they insist they are only friends. Season three has no date and is tracked separately.
