About Quarry
Quarry follows Mac Conway, a Marine who returns to Memphis in 1972 to scorn and no work, then gets pulled into contract killing by a handler called the Broker. Early episodes follow river front hits, money fights and strain with his wife Joni and friend Arthur. The show pairs period detail with slow dread as each job traps Mac deeper.
The final stretch follows the hunt for who betrayed his unit, the collapse of cover stories and a violent settlement on the river. Cinemax aired 8 episodes in 2016 created by Graham Gordy and Michael Fuller from Max Allan Collins books. Watch episodes 1 through 8 in order since every hit and lie changes who can trust Mac next.
Good to know
Watch episodes 1 through 8 in story order because the hit jobs, the Broker demands and the home front fallout link tightly. The season ends with major threads closed and no second season was ordered, so the eight form the full tale. Expect strong violence, 1970s Memphis texture and noir mood. The pilot sets the moral trap that the finale springs shut.
