About Rookies
The 2008 TBS run spans eleven episodes as teacher Kawato rebuilds a delinquent baseball club toward Koshien, airing April to July with a 19.5 finale high. Ratings averaged near 15 in Kanto. The run adapts Morita's manga.
A 2008 special compiles the run, and Rookies The Movie Graduation from May 2009 closes the story on film at 137 minutes. No further run followed. Watch the eleven episodes first, then the special as recap, then the film for the close. The 19.5 rated finale stands as the series peak.
Good to know
Release order is the story order from classroom to graduation. Start with the eleven episodes for the full climb. The special recaps, so skippers can use it, though the run rewards full watch. The 2009 film ends it shut at 137 minutes. The manga runs far beyond for readers to enjoy, with years more story.
