About Sanctuary
Sanctuary follows Dr. Helen Magnus running a refuge for abnormal creatures, taking FBI skeptic Will Zimmerman inside across four seasons of cases and conspiracies. The run grew from webisodes into 59 broadcast episodes from 2008 to 2011, closing with the Hollow Earth arc.
Watch seasons one through four in air order. The webisodes were folded into the pilot's backstory, so start at the broadcast series without hunting them down. The cases run episodic early and serialized late, with the Cabal and Hollow Earth threads requiring sequence throughout.
Good to know
Sanctuary pioneered the web to television path, with its green screen production keeping the whole run visually distinct. The fourth season was written as a possible ender and serves as the finale. No revival is in development, so the 59 episodes plus the original webisodes are the complete file set.
