About Six Feet Under
Six Feet Under follows the Fisher family after patriarch Nathaniel Sr. dies in the pilot, as sons Nate and David, mother Ruth, daughter Claire and mortician Federico run the family funeral home in Los Angeles. Alan Ball created the HBO drama, which ran 63 episodes over five seasons from June 3, 2001 to August 21, 2005.
Watch the seasons in order. Each episode opens with a death, often a stranger's, then follows its effect on the Fishers, and the plots build season to season. The finale, Everyone's Waiting, closes every main character's story and ranks on many best-finales lists.
Good to know
Season counts run 13, 13, 13, 12 and 12. A 2005 DVD retrospective, Six Feet Under: In Memoriam, recaps the run and sits outside this list.
