About The Bachelor
The Bachelor premiered March 2002 on ABC about one lead dating many contestants to a final rose, with Alex Michel first and Jesse Palmer hosting later runs. The Bachelorette spun off in 2003 with Trista Rehn, flipping the lead role while keeping mansion dates and hometown weeks.
Bachelor in Paradise began 2014 mixing past contestants in Mexico, and The Golden Bachelor in 2023 plus Golden Bachelorette in 2024 added senior leads. Shows share contestants but not plot, so newcomers start with a recent Bachelor season before trying spinoffs for familiar faces.
Good to know
There is no strict story order since each season resets with a new lead and cast. Watch in release order within each show, starting with the main Bachelor before Bachelorette or Paradise. Treat the universe as ongoing with 29 Bachelor seasons and 21 Bachelorette seasons by 2026, plus yearly Paradise runs.
