About The Good Lord Bird
Good Lord Bird premiered October 4, 2020 on Showtime as seven episodes from Ethan Hawke after James McBride. Onion joins Brown raids from Kansas to Harpers Ferry with Frederick Douglass debates and Harriet Tubman cameo for freedom. Joshua Caleb Johnson plays Onion with care.
The run ends November 15, 2020 with Harper's Ferry capture and hanging. Showtime bills it limited with no season 2 for fans. Watch episodes 1 through 7 straight, since the barber shop through armory builds the hanging close.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order worth listing. The 1856 Kansas through 1859 raid plays forward in broadcast order across seven parts of about one hour. Start at episode 1, since the tavern rescue sets every later march for Onion. Treat the 2020 run as finished with praise for Hawke and cast.
