About The Old Man
The Old Man follows Dan Chase, a former CIA officer living off grid with two dogs until a hit team forces him to run. Season 1 (2022) runs 7 episodes from June 16, 2022 on the break in and the Harold Harper pursuit. Season 2 (2024) runs 8 episodes from September 12, 2024 on the Afghanistan rescue and the Morgan Bote reckoning.
Jonathan Steinberg created the FX show from Thomas Perry books with Jeff Bridges and John Lithgow. FX cancelled it on December 17, 2024 after two seasons, so season 2 is the ending. Watch in broadcast order, since the daughter reveal and the Faraz debt only make sense across both years.
Good to know
There is no separate chronological order, as flashbacks to Libya and Afghanistan sit inside a straight present day chase. Do not start with season 2, since it opens with Chase already exposed and assumes you know Zoe and the rental house fight. The finale leaves some threat alive by design, but no third season will resolve it. Treat the two seasons as complete.
