About The Young Ones
The Young Ones follows four students sharing a squalid house while studying at Scumbag College, written by Ben Elton, Rik Mayall and Lise Mayer. Series 1 from 1982 sets Vyvyan, Rick, Neil and Mike across 6 episodes, with house plots, puppet cutaways and a live band in almost every show. Series 2 from 1984 keeps the same house and chaos.
The second run adds Bambi exams, cash plots and the Summer Holiday close across 6 more episodes, with Motorhead, Madness and The Damned among the guests. The show ends in 1984 after 12 episodes. Watch in broadcast order, since house jokes assume you know each student from the start.
