Four TV series in release order.

About Torchwood

Torchwood spins Captain Jack Harkness off Doctor Who into a Cardiff team handling alien tech. Series 1 ran 13 episodes from October 22, 2006 on BBC Three with Gwen Cooper joining. Series 2 ran 13 episodes from January 16, 2008 and ends with major deaths that reshape the team. Children of Earth aired as five nights on BBC One from July 6 to July 10, 2009.

Miracle Day ran 10 episodes from July 8, 2011 as a BBC and Starz co-production set largely in the U.S. with Rex and Esther joining. No fifth series has been ordered, and Big Finish audio continuations from 2017 onward sit outside the TV list. Crossovers with Doctor Who Series 3 and 4 help if watched nearby but are not required.

Good to know

Release order is story order here. Do not skip Series 2, since Children of Earth assumes you know who is gone and why Gwen is central. Miracle Day divides fans because of the U.S. shift and slower middle stretch, but it is still the TV ending. Audio dramas like Aliens Among Us continue the story for completists, yet they are not needed to follow the four TV runs.
