About United States of Al
United States of Al pairs Afghan interpreter Al with Marine veteran Riley adjusting in Ohio. Season one from April 2021 runs 13 episodes setting Art, Hazel and Liz with Chuck Lorre warmth and paperwork. Creator David Goetsch keeps each episode to one hurdle and hug.
Season two from October 2021 runs 22 more to the May 2022 finale after CBS cancellation with visa stakes. The second run closes Al, Riley and Vanessa arcs with no threads left. Watch both for the complete friendship run with calm payoffs.
Good to know
Watch season one then season two with no skipping, since Al visa and Riley PTSD carry over directly. Season two assumes you know the S1 arrival deal and Hassina courtship from early forms. Jokes reset weekly but the veteran trust builds throughout. Treat the S2 finale as the planned close after the cancellation news.
