About Vision Quest
VisionQuest is a Marvel Television miniseries created by Terry Matalas, and the eighteenth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Paul Bettany returns as the synthezoid Vision created at the end of WandaVision, and the show picks up that story rather than retelling it: a white Vision who woke with no memories, no face and no idea what he is, only an AI partner and a case that will not close.
The premise is that Vision talks to the artificial intelligences embedded in his own programming, Ultron, JARVIS, FRIDAY and EDITH among them, and James Spader plays Ultron as the closest thing Vision has to a companion. VisionQuest follows him on the run with Thomas Shepard, a teenager who may be the reincarnation of his son. Marvel built it as the closing movement of a trilogy that runs from WandaVision through Agatha All Along to here, and it sits inside the MCU's Phase Six.
Development started in October 2022 with Jac Schaeffer as head writer. By May 2024 Matalas had taken the project over and Bettany was confirmed, filming ran from March to July 2025 at Pinewood Studios in London, and Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali and Matalas directed between them.
The eight episode run premiered on Disney Plus on October 13, 2026, with the first two episodes released together, and finishes on November 10. Episode titles were not published at the time of this check.
Good to know
Watch the eight episodes in order and nothing else needs deciding. The series is one continuous run, so there is no separate chronological order worth listing and the checkboxes on the guide follow the weekly rollout.
It assumes you have seen WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Vision's memories of the finale flood are the show's starting point rather than something it explains again, and the AI personas it argues with only land if you know who they were.
The run ends the trilogy, so WandaVision stays first and Agatha All Along second. Episode titles are still to come, which is why the guide tracks the season as a single entry instead of listing eight placeholder rows.
