About Anohana
Anohana follows Jintan hiding from friends after Menma dies, until her ghost returns asking to grant a wish across 11 episodes in 2011. The series rebuilds the Super Peace Busters one by one, facing guilt, old crushes and blame through letters and a planned firework that carries her farewell. Each episode narrows the wish while old fights resurface.
The 2013 film retells the story from the friends point of view a year later, adding new scenes around the Chichibu reunion and the same ending. It assumes the series emotions are known, so it works best as a reunion visit rather than a replacement for the longer run.
Good to know
Watch the 2011 series first in full across all 11 episodes, then the 2013 film last as a recap with extra scenes and letters. Story order matches release order for the emotional beats, so one path covers the whole emotional tale. The film spoils every reveal if watched first, and no sequel has been dated, so treat the pair as complete as of this check.
