About Armitage III
Armitage III began with a 4-episode OVA in 1995 about officer Ross Sylibus guarding the android Naomi Armitage on Mars during the Thirds murders. Poly-Matrix (1997) re-edits the OVA into a feature with new scenes. Dual-Matrix (2002) continues years later with Naomi's daughter caught in the android-rights war.
The OVA and the films tell one case across formats rather than separate stories, with Dual-Matrix as the only true sequel. No new anime has been announced, leaving the daughter's war as the close rather than an open thread.
Good to know
Watch the 1995 OVA first, then Dual-Matrix, since the daughter and the rights war assume the original case. Poly-Matrix works as a recap alternate after the OVA rather than a replacement, trimming the investigation beats heavily throughout. The novels expand side cases for fans wanting more Mars after both.
