About Bungo Stray Dogs
Bungo Stray Dogs runs five seasons from 2016 to 2023 with the Agency against the Port Mafia, Guild, Rats and Decay of Angels in order. Dead Apple in 2018 slots between seasons 2 and 3 as a standalone mist case. Wan! from 2021 retells chibi daily life as an optional comedy extra, with Wan! 2 airing from July 2026. Season 2 opens with the Dark Era flashback that reframes Dazai, so episode order inside it matters.
Release order is recommended with flashbacks kept in place. Chronological order would pull Dark Era and the agency founding first and spoil their reveals. Dead Apple assumes season 2's cast and plays best there. Wan! needs the main run seen for its jokes and can go any time after season 1.
Good to know
Watch seasons 1 to 5 with Dead Apple between 2 and 3. Season 2's Dark Era stretch is a flashback by design, so keep it where it aired rather than front-loading it. Season 3's own Fifteen Years flashback works the same way. Wan! and its sequel are pure extras that spoil nothing but reference everything. No sixth season has a date, leaving season 5 plus Wan! 2 as current.
