About Crush Gear

Crush Gear is Sunrise's machine battle anime where kids smash gears in arenas. Crush Gear Turbo with 68 episodes from October 2001 opens Kouya and Garuda rules. Crush Gear Nitro with 52 episodes from February 2003 resets with Masaru and new machines.

The gears, rings and smash shots stay fixed while heroes change. Any era plays alone once you know the trigger game. The Turbo school only matters for part one fans. The pits never clear across long tours. New gears smash every grand final for fans today.

Good to know

There is no shared hero between the eras, so either machine works alone once you know the rules. Release order is still the best default because Nitro refines the smash beats. Start with Turbo for the Kouya classic, then take Nitro for the return. The smashes never soften across both long eras for Kouya.
